SANTA CRUZ, CA - The Green Ways to School program is grant-funded, working within the schools of Santa Cruz County to inspire youth to use sustainable transportation and build a grassroots youth bicycle movement. At school, GWTS offers presentations, classroom projects, school events, and after-school rides, which the Green ways Coordinator organizes. Outside school, the coordinator also involves youth in the bicycle movement through current campaigns, service projects, and bike tours. As a role model for the youth bike movement, the coordinator will perform the job car-free.
Necessary skills:
Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication
Presentation skills
Ability to engage high school students, administration, and community members
Understanding of sustainable transportation issues
Experience working with schools
Average of 36 hours/week, 16.50/hour
